Me as your sexologist
I’m a woman, life enthusiast and a mother of two dear, adult children. I get my inner strength from nature; from mountains, the fjords and the sea. Also from the sun, moon, the stars and the plants. Yoga gives me the right balance in a busy everyday life and helps me to be more present. I guess I am an eternal student and I enjoy new challenges and learning immensely. I’m also a colleague to amazing people at work, a friend, a daughter, a sister and a person who enjoys the smaller and greater joys of life.
I am dedicated to sexual health and fascinated by sexuality due to its diversity, sensitivity and uniqueness. I will welcome you warmly and respectfully, just as you are. I will not stand above you but travel by your side – a therapist who encourages you, cheers you on, and gives you the right amount of challenges. I will address themes based on your needs with confidence, seeking and defining your needs together.
For me, it is important to make you feel that you have been seen and heard. You choose the things you want to tell me during therapy. I work with a resource-oriented, solution- directed approach but I do not make decisions on your behalf. I provide you with factual information and create a safe space for new perspectives, insights and empowerment, helping you towards a better sexual health.
For some people, it may be easier to talk in another type of environment than in the office. For example surrounded by nature. We can have the therapy session as a walk during summer season (Walk & Talk therapy) for example. You are warmly welcome as my client. Contact me and Iet’s flexibly plan your journey towards a more balanced and positive sexuality.
Your confidentiality and information security is important to me. I am obliged to secrecy and work in accordance with Health Care Professionals guidelines and legislation. I use an encrypted, secure and GDPR compliant patient journal and video consultation platform.
Body, mind and emotions
Taking bodily perspective into consideration is a natural part of my way of working. We actually are our bodies and that is a part of being human.
I see the body as a resource, even if it feels broken, fragile or disconnected. Through our bodies, we are connected to the surrounding world, nature and each other. The body, mind and emotions are also all closely intertwined. If the mind is not present in sexual situations and activities, the body may also refuse to cooperate. It may make experiencing pleasure distant and unachievable. Bodily sensations may also prevent from having pleasure, even if the mind is craving sexual activities.
I will help you to connect with your body and your sexuality in a more intimate and safe way. These are your longest-term life partners. As tools, I may use for example bodily and sensory exercises, relaxation and grounding in the present and self-presence. I may also give some homeworks to support your healing. Presence skills may open up entirely new doors for you to sexual pleasure, for example, and thereby to a more balanced and positive everyday life.
